529 Highland Blvd. One of the September Yard of the Month awards goes to Jeri Joles, who lives at 529 Highland Blvd. Jeri moved into the neighborhood five years ago as a first time homeowner. Gardening has become a passion with her, and she gardens organically. Due to the replacement of Highland Blvd., and storms and disease, she lost several trees this past summer. She replaced her lost trees with two beautiful Crepe Myrtles, and drought tolerant, sun-loving perennials. Jeri feels truly blessed to be in this beautiful neighborhood, with its warm and friendly people. If you see her in the yard, be sure and stop to talk “gardening”! |

534 Melody Ln.The second September award goes to Tim and Ruth Vineyard. Tim and Ruth are also fairly new to the neighborhood. Tim has been our Beautification Chair for HTNA, and when you see their yard you will understand why. When they moved in, the yard needed lots of work. The Vineyards decided to tackle the job in two parts. For the lawn, they dug out weeds by hand, and applied pre-emergent weed killer to stave off new weeds. Then for the beautiful landscaping, they hired an old friend, co-owner of “Nativ Landscapes” to plan and plant the front and backyards. Thank you to all of these “winning” neighbors for their part in making our neighborhood more beautiful. |
