Richardson, Texas | June 2023 | Vol.8 No.66

Hey there neighbors!

With Memorial Day behind us, there is no question that summer is here! I hope this season will be filled with excitement, adventure, and a whole lot of fun in the sun. Speaking of, we are just a month away from our neighborhood Fourth of July event. You can read all about it in this edition of the Highland Terrace Post, our monthly newsletter that should hit your inbox the first week of each month.

The Highland Terrace Neighborhood Association is committed to providing opportunities and events throughout the year that create a sense of community and neighborhood pride within our little corner of Richardson. The only way that happens is through the support of our members. So if you enjoy these types of gatherings, make sure to invite your neighbors and encourage them to join the group. You too can become a member through our website (htna.org) or by clicking the button below.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you around!

Richardson 150th Anniversary

The City of Richardson is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a party on June 24 from 10-2pm on Main Street Plaza in Downtown Richardson!

The event will feature live music on two stages, games and activities for all ages, a children’s area, and the revealing of the City of Richardson 1973 time capsule that was buried outside the Library for the City’s 100th anniversary. There will also be some sweet treats available from Tongue In Cheek and Tikiz Shaved Ice alongside several other food vendors. You can learn even more about this celebration by visiting the event website.

New Richardson Police Officers

A swearing-in ceremony was held last month for Officer Cole, Officer Ealy, and Officer Gantt. Officers Cole (16 years of experience) and Ealy (2 years of experience) were hired through RPD’s Lateral Officer Program. Officer Gantt is a recent graduate of the Plano-Richardson Police Academy, where he distinguished himself as class Valedictorian, and was awarded Top Shot for best marksmanship. We say congratulations to all the new police officers who will serve our community and neighborhood. If you are interested in becoming an officer, RPD is hiring.
