A Letter from the President:

To say last year has not been one of the most difficult would be an understatement, with 2021 not starting out on its best behavior either. I hope everyone has been safe during the winter storm. Once we had a little more reliable power we started to send out all the information we could find from the city. I hope it helped someone. Please let us know if the information was useful to you and if you need more information like that. If you would like to see the information from the storm you can take a look at email 1 here and email 2 here.

Facebook and Instagram have been the easiest forms of communication for us to quickly get information to you especially when the internet and power were down. If you do not follow us yet, please make sure you do, the links are above.

Secondly, I am excited to announce that I have been working with Apple to get our newsletter onto the Apple News platform. This has been a very long process, it took about 4 months to get into the system and file all the paperwork. It has now been one more month since being accepted and they are currently "reviewing" all our posts to make sure they meet Apple standards. If you search for us under " The Highland Terrace Post" you can start following us and as soon as our old articles are approved they will post. We will have more tutorials on how to do this in another newsletter.

Lastly, The HTNA board is sad to have missed so many of our traditional gatherings last year. We are in the process of discussing some creative ideas to have some normalcy for this coming 2021. Thank you for your patience during this unusual season.

If you need anything please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Please send me an email below if there is a story you would like us to highlight in our next newsletter. Please stay safe through the now rainy season headed our way!

Thanks,

Clinton Ball
-President HTNA

Richardson Terrace Elementary PTA

Currently, Richardson Terrace Elementary is the last few days of our Membership Drive for the month.  Our goal is to earn the membership award, "A Voice for Every Child,” which is one of the highest membership honors a  PTA can achieve.

Richardson Terrace Elementary has 539 students enrolled and we currently have 233 PTA members.  To meet our goal we need an additional 306 members. We are reaching out to friends, family, neighbors to see if they would be willing to help us reach our goal.

Each Membership is $10 and goes towards helping our school with needs such as school supplies for teachers and students, STEM projects, fine arts support, teacher appreciation goodies, field trips, behavior bashes, and much more!

If you are able to support us and you have friends and neighbors that would like to help us reach our goal, please visit us here to join:   https://terracepta.membershiptoolkit.com/joinrtepta

Thank you for your support!

 Sign Up to Volunteer!

The need for our Food Pantry is increasing not decreasing, and we just can’t continue to meet this demand if we don’t have enough volunteers.

As always, thank you for your support to help our neighbors in need.

As the Coordinator for our Highland Terrace Crime Watch Patrol, I would like to encourage you to go on the City of Richardson website and sign up to join our ranks - we would love to have you - the more "eyes on the street" in our neighborhood, the less crime. After submitting your application and being accepted, you will be notified by RPD when the next class becomes available. Please give some serious thought to joining our patrol group.
